Brees first year, he got beat to hell because the O-Line wasn't in sync. Enter Coach Hudson Houck, the line responded and Tomlinson took off. Right now our line is hurting due to the personnel or lack of. Once we draft or pick-up the free-agents needed we'll be on that same journey. Trying to get a coach that can get them all on the same page. I'd like to see a smaller group with quick feet. It helps from the DE coming around the left tackle especially. But it also allows for a great pulling guard, that can help your running game. The O-line is everything in a winning team. A great offensive line can make a mediocre QB look great. Rivers would shoot to the top along with Mathews if we get a Great line together. That is what's been missing (especially in the ground game) the last few years. Tomlinson's last year the line wasn't helping at all. But Smith hasn't drafted for need when it comes to the line. He's got to go out and get the best people possible.
