Eric Weddle Named to Pro Football Weekly All-NFL Team

Eric Weddle picked up another honor for his great 2011 season being named to the Pro Football Weekly All-NFL Team (Christopher Smith). His name is getting out there for the rest of the league to know. We hope that he can play at a high level for a long time in the Chargers secondary and keep getting this recognition around the league.

We have not had a safety of this caliber since Rodney Harrison left. I will not put Weddle in the Harrison level yet, but he is becoming a big-time playmaker and has a nose for the football.

Rodney and Eric are 2 different types of players, so it is hard to compare the two. If only we could have a Rodney type safety playing along side Weddle, then we could have a sweet combination in the secondary.
