Ravens at Chargers ~ Watch the Stats

If 2,000 tickets are sold by 1pm today, and I think they will be due to the Snapdragon marketing campaign, here are some things to watch for while watching the game.

For the third time in franchise history (1981, 2008), the Chargers may have a  4,000-yard passer, a 1,000-yard rusher and a 1,000-yard receiver.

Rivers is currently at 3,745 passing yards, Mathews has 943 rushing yards and VJax is fast approaching 1,000 at 952 receiving yards.

Rivers can become the third quarterback in NFL history with four consecutive 4,000-yard seasons.  That will put him in the record books with two of my favorites, Peyton Manning and Drew Brees.

Mathews can be the 10th Chargers running back ever to top 1,000 rushing yards in a season and the first since 2008.

Gates can also become the most prolific receiver in team history.  He needs five catches to overtake Charlie Joiner, who just happens to be one of his coaches.  Gates enters Sunday with 582 career receptions to Joiner’s 586.  While looking for that record, Gates needs two touchdowns to extend his NFL record streak of eight scores in seven consecutive seasons.

So, win or lose it will be an exciting game to watch.  With these records in mind I would expect Rivers to be airing it out and Gates, Mathews and VJax to have excellent days.  This is the week to start all of your Chargers in FF my friends.

That’s really great, but these guys would trade those numbers for a run at the playoffs. It’s a shame when milestones are met under these present conditions. Turner has proved he doesn’t use his players talents fully. He’s been playing so conservatively it’s caused injury after injury. When players are going through the motions because of so much repatition, they always get hurt alot more. While the other team is giving it it’s all the Chargers were frustrated and showed it with their performances. Last week Turner opens it up with nothing to loose now.But Turner always coached not to loose. He doesn’t want to get critisised for a gutsy call so he tightens up after a 7-10 pt lead. Then has the defense play the same, safe. The Chargers have got to get a Coach that wants to domkinate the other team by not settling for21 pts. but he shoots for 40 and to shut down the other team completely. That takes putting yourself out there which takes guts, And that kind of Coach is the one who will go to the Superbowl.

Loose and lose are not the same word unless you are from Canada or Minnesota. Thank you for playing. #FIRENORV

Ha ha!! I was a semi-lame writer on-line for a few sites (even including this one) for a while so I was just giving you a hard time. I might write again one day but personal stuff and the goofy Chargers have hindered my desire, LOL. Cheers and Merry X-Mas at you!!

Yeah, I’m on a wait and see if Turner and AJ go. If not that might be the last straw. He’s proved he’s to conservative a Coach and I think he’d play looser if he was Offensive Coordinator. Seriously if they’d bring in a Coach such as Fisher or my vote ( Cowher ), then I wouldn’t mind if they held on to him as Coordinator.
