Report - Smith and Turner will be fired.

According to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune Norv Turner and AJ Smith are as good as gone. His article says Chargers President Dean Spanos, according to those around the team and around the league, feels he has “no choice” but to go in another direction at head coach and that Turner will be fired at season’s end.

While I want to believe what I am reading here I am a little nervous when I read “optimism is almost nonexistent that the Chargers will salvage the season, but it is believed a miracle run to the playoffs would save the jobs of Turner and Smith.” I have believed this since our slide and I wonder if the players know this too. I suspect their pride would not allow them to throw games just to get rid of Turner, or would it?

Smith is rumored to be headed to the Raiders.

Best News I’ve Heard all Season!!!!

WoooooHooooo if this is true it’s as good as going to the superbowl (considering how long I’ve waited for this)

Not soon enough for me. The way owners can prove their desire to win to their players is to act as such. Waiting when a players carreer last only so long is a deadly mistake. Your telling the players wait and we’ll see at the end of the season. By then the freeagents are going to go where they see their best chance of winning. You fire them now and name a head coach that tells them I’m serious about a championship. That tells the Players you have their back, especially if Cowher or Fisher comes up. Cowhers carreer has been a great one, he has the rings to back up his pedigree. Seeing Jeff fisher make his way back without all the stress by becoming defensive cordnator would be great. He was burned out and Cowher has had time to be fresh and has followed Rivers carrer. I could live with either but I think Cowher has the desire right now.

So it’s ok to root for the Bolts to win tonight??? You sure??

I would hope your rooting for the Chargers. It’s not on the players, they were a team with hope but the rug has been pulled out from under them.
