Dump dump dump dump!!! That is all!
SAN DIEGO — Making adjustments — it’s become the name of the game for head coach Norv Turner amidst a tumultuous season that has seen the Chargers go from first to tied-for-last in their division in a matter of six weeks.
Jaguars defensive coordinator Mel Tucker will take over the team for the season’s final five weeks, and the Jaguars have an offensive coordinator, Dirk Koetter, who calls plays. (If nothing else, those two things right there would be impediments to Chargers head coach Norv Turner being fired now. He calls the offensive plays, and defensive coordinator Greg Manusky is just as likely as Turner, if not more, to be fired after this season.)
With major changes on the way for the San Diego Chargers, including a new Head Coach and possibly an all-new coaching staff, we as fans need to consider all of the possibilities of what could happen to this team. When looking at the different coaching candidates (Bill Cowher, Mike Zimmer, Jeff Fisher, Chuck Pagano, etc.), we need to consider that some of these guys prefer the 4-3 defense over the 3-4 defense that San Diego currently runs.
Bouchette writes of the San Diego job: “It has everything he wants: A team with talent, a quality quarterback and an owner who will allow him to bring in his own management people.”
