Marcus Gilchrist Practices With the First Team in Place of Cason

It looks like Marcus G-Christ will be getting set to take over the starting corner spot over Antoine Cason since he is working with the first team at practice today (SignOnSanDiego). G-Chirst started in place of Quentin Jammer earlier in the season and contributed with an interception.

Kevin Acee also added on twitter that Antwan Barnes saw more action in New York and could see even more action against KC. I want him to be starting, but more playing time is good news.

Even with the increased playing time for some of these players, we need to use them all correctly. We need to put more pressure on the quarterback and give more opportunities for our corners to make big plays. That is up to Greg Manusky and the defensive play calling. Get aggressive and make things happen!!!

This is good news. If our offense can get a little more consistent, without turning the ball over so much we should win this game. Its unfortunate every year we have one or two issues that keep us from being a truly dominant team. Every year I hope that we correct those things at some point in the season and become the powerhouse I know we can be with our talented roster. This season is no different, and I still hold out hope that we correct the few things that are holding us back and become a consistent winning machine. Ah, the wonder of being a Charger faithful.

@sdboltzfan i definitely think that Philip will get his act together and soon… that will go a long way in fixing the offense

This is good news but it isn’t Casons fault, I don’t know when Turner will understand that no corner is going to hold up without QB pressure. I really believe that if Turner is going to stick with his skeem he’d best go to a 4-3. That way we’d be rushing 4 at least. Gilchrist is impressive and I’m glad he’s a Charger but Jammer has been having problems with the lack of pressure too. And our offense would be better if we would start using slants and outs, anything in the short to mid range. # step drop and don’t give the defense time to get on our recievers.

@MikeTuck i think having gates back in the mix will help the offense in so many ways! it would be nice if malcom floyd could get healthy too though.

How about that secound catch by Floyd though? For those that remember Fouts would throw to a spot and expect his recievers to go get it, it was where only his player could get it. Rivers is off, he uses jackson and Floyd on long plays, they’re hanging back waiting for that. If Gates Floyd and Jackson were to run routes in the short to medium range the coverage will get bumped around and confused. Bring in Brown in the slot and use him to streak to the goal post. Then they’ll respect the recievers routes. It is just to bland a offensive plan. My Dad was a Rams fan in LA. I had to watch that mess for years. Knox, Robinson, and Allen. Turner fits into that group. COWHER

Someone that has a buisness in SD put up a billboard inviting Cowher to come sit with Spanos as he calls the play Turners using before they run it.

@MikeTuck you and i can call the play that turner calls before he runs it! dont need cowher to do that! :)

he starts out EVERY game with a dive up the middle.. then it gets 2 yards and then its 2 incompletions after that! for some reason he actually didnt do the dive against the jets!

i bet he starts mondays game with the dive play to mathews.

Turners play calling: Anyone seen Groundhog Day?
