David Garrard Won’t Be Joining the Raiders

David Garrard won’t be leading the Raiders anytime soon with the latest news: Garrard needs surgery for a herniated disc and won’t be available for them.

Carson Palmer has been mentioned as a possibility from the Cincinnati Bengals, but it is a long shot for the Raiders to strike a deal. Kyle Orton could be a possibility, but I doubt that Denver deals him to a team inside of the division. There has also been talk of Josh McCown, which would not be a threat.

The Raiders still have a GREAT running attack and they just need a quarterback to take care of the ball and manage the game. Boller should be able to manage OK, but he does not offer the same threat that Jason Campbell has been this season.

Take one name out of search for QB, David Garrard just called me and told me he needs immediate surgery on herniated disc in his back.
