Did the Chargers Find a New Kicker for the Future?

Nick Novak is drilling his kicks for the team since signing on with the Bolts to replace Nate Kaeding. It sucks that Kaeding was hurt again this year, but it opened up the the door for Novak.

Could Novak be the kicker of the future for the Bolts? Nate the Great took a lot of heat from Bolts fans for choking under the playoff pressure. He is one of the best during the regular season, but was not able to make a clutch playoff kick to save his life.

Now, Novak has not shown that he can be that clutch playoff kicker yet, but he might be given that opportunity later in the season. The Dolphins tried to ice him on the game on Sunday by calling a time out on his last field goal attempt. Novak still smoothly kicked the ball right in between the uprights! If Novak can make some clutch kicks throughout this season, we might be shopping Nate the Great to a team in need of a kicker in the offseason.

Should we try this nickname out: Nick Novakain? Numbs the body?

Bottom line, if this guy continues to make his kicks that help us win games in the regular season and in the post season (if we make this year), there should be no question that he is our kicker for the foreseeable future.

Nick Novakain would iimmediately be the top worst nickname in the NFL. Possibly in NFL history too.
