In order to make room on the roster, the team cut CJ Wallace and we placed Kaeding on the IR. It’s Patriots Hate Week!

The San Diego Chargers signed kicker Nick Novak to a two-year contract on Tuesday and placed Nate Kaeding on season-ending injured reserve, the team announced.

In targeting Novak and then choosing him over two more experienced kickers in their quest to replace Nate Kaeding, the Chargers are focusing on what Novak has done since his last official shot in the NFL.

SAN DIEGO — Veteran kicker Nick Novak agreed Tuesday to a two-year contract with the San Diego Chargers to replace the injured Nate Kaeding.

Last game vs. Chargers: The Patriots won 23-20 in Week 7 of the 2010 season. Replacement kicker Kris Brown missed a 50-yard field goal with 23 seconds left, which allowed New England to secure the victory. The Chargers fumbled four times and lost three, continuing a season-long trend of turning the ball over.

It’s finally time to sort through and break down the Patriots’ first full game plan of the 2011 season. It obviously worked well against the Dolphins, so let’s crack out the microscope and see how it unfolded in Miami for the first Two-Minute Drill of the regular season.

8. Will the Mike Tolbert-Ryan Mathews butt-brush celebration catch on? Gosh I hope so.
