Marcus McNeill Looks Ready For Chargers Opener Against the Vikings

Big Mac Marcus McNeill did not take a snap in the preseason, but it seems that he will be ready to open up the season on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.

Everybody needs preparation…. It’s the physicality, the game speed you really miss. Luckily I am veteran, so I’ve had a lot of games under my belt so I should be very fairly decent. But you always want those preseason games to work the kinks out – Marcus McNeill (signonsandiego)

He better be ready for the speed of Minnesota DE Jared Allen. Allen is one of the best pass rushers in the league and McNeill will need to give Philip Rivers enough time to get his passes off to Vincent Jackson and Antonio Gates. Allen has had double digit sacks in the last 4 seasons and will be looking to get off to a fast start.

In an unrelated note, Bryan Walters will get written about in Peter King’s Tuesday Morning Quarterback in SI.

@A_Eme_O_Ere that is a nice little note to add… that is one of the best feel good stories in the early season.

Unfortunately he didn’t run the story. Instead he wrote about Hue Jackson’s love for Al Davis. Didn’t even mention anything about the Walter’s story. What a bummer.

@A_Eme_O_Ere well that sucks… sucks even more that it was about the stinkin raiders. oh well
