Another surgery for English.

In later news Friday afternoon, Larry English released a statement that his broken foot which he suffered in training camp last year needed a follow up surgery. What does this mean to Chargers fans?

NOTHING. Until this guy gets fully healthy and proves his first round draft status, I will think of him as nothing more than a glorified special teamer. Yes English does possess the skill set to be great and to play at the NFL level, but I believe I speak for majority of Chargers fans when I say “GET HEALTHY AND EARN YOUR KEEP”.

“They put another screw in because something was off,” English told the North County Times during an appearance at an Escondido, Calif., elementary school. “The doctors said it hadn’t healed right or the foot was re-broken. Either way, we had to get it right during the offseason. It feels a lot better now and (I’m) optimistic about my foot’s long-term health. Hopefully the second time’s the charm.”

Wait… Did you say the foot was either healed wrong or RE-BROKEN? I don’t like the sounds of this. Lingering injuries for a linebacker are a headache no ball club wants to deal with.

So what’s your take on Larry English? Can you blame his lack of progression solely on the broken bone? Or was he a 1st round “bust” draft pick?

To me picking Larry in the 1st round was a huge shock.I mean we had one of the lowest picks that we have had in years that year.I originally thought it was an F U to Merriman. I also think that pick might have set the team back a year or two. What do you guys think?

i think if we made the correct pick in that draft, then we would be sitting pretty. Everyone knows that Clay Matthews on the Bolts would make us a dominant force and we passed on him.

I remember yelling out for Rey Maualuga during that draft, and even though he hasnt done much in his career, i think he would have made a bigger impact than english and maybe a bigger impact on this team rather than cincinatti.

Clay Matthews, Ray Maualuga, Michael Oher all would’ve been better than English, who AJ Smith definitely reached for.

Let’s just hope years from now we’re not crying about losing out on Cam Jordan, Prince Amukamara and Akeem Ayers.

will this guy EVER get healthy? I Would love to see what he could do on the field, but it seem that he can’t get off the sideline.

i hope this is the last time we hear about this broken foot.. or any injury for that matter.

he might very well turn out to be a decent nfl player we just have to wait and see.

The patience is running thin for him… I really hope he gets this chance this year and does well!

hes only been in the league 2years. This is a make or break season for him.
