After the craziness and mysterious picks of day 2, the Chargers still had a couple of holes to fill and they had 3 picks on the final day of the draft to fill them. The bolts ended out the draft by selecting a couple of good players to round out the draft.
Their first pick on the day came in the 6th round where they select RB Jordan Todman out of Connecticut. Todman will most likely take over the 3rd running back duties on the team and it is another sign showing that Darren Sproles is on his way out the door. Todman is a Sproles-like running back with a shifty style but adds a little more nastiness at the end of his runs.
With their next pick, we picked up another Michigan Wolverine, but this time to work in the trenches on the o-line. Steve Schilling is the big man that they added to compete for a spot on the roster. He is better at pass blocking and will need to out in extra work on his rush blocking. He is supposed to be a hard worker, so he will get his chance to compete.
The final pick of the draft for the Bolts was used to select another middle linebacker. The Bolts have a lot of question marks on who will be playing in the middle next season since both starters are free agents and the main backup is a free agent also.
The final day of the draft went well and a couple of these guys may turn out to be pretty good players. It would have been nice to have a 4th or 5th round draft pick, but we will survive.
