AJ surprises again by selecting Corey Liuget

AJ Smith loves the fact that he is UNPREDICTABLE. Once again, he shocked the fans by selecting Corey Liuget when Cameron Jordan of Cal and Prince Amukamara of Nebraska were on the board. Corey was not the sexy pick at the time, but he is the selection that AJ went with and it still is a good one.

Corey was not a reach at pick number 18 though, he was expected to be drafted earlier and just fell to the Bolts. He was the guy the Bolts wanted and we made that pick. He mostlyplayed defensive tackle in Illinois, but he will be playing defensive end for us. He is a big, strong lineman that will win battles at the line of scrimmage. According to the Bolts, he’s just like Janet Jackson, He’s NASTY!

Team Liuget up with Antonio Garay and Luis Castillo and we have a strong front line in our 3-4 defense that will open up the field for Shaun Phillips and Larry English. Get ready to start chanting “YOU CANT RUN” when the defense is on the field, because we will be stuffing the running game. This number 1 defense just got much better!  It’s hammer time, too Liuget to quit!!!

What’s your reaction on the pick?

Typical AJ Smith pick — low ceiling / high floor. The guy may be a good, servicable player but I don’t think he’s a future Pro Bowler or an impact player.

I never heard of this guy going into the draft (at least he was invited) and he’s definitely not the 18th best player in this draft. I don’t know how you can pass Cameron Jordan over for this guy.
