Early Morning Bolt Dump

About 30 San Diego business leaders now know more about the Chargers stadium search than you do.

Proposals for a new home for the San Diego Chargers are expanding to include an entertainment and convention center complex in the downtown area, the team’s point man for stadium development said Monday.

Talk about building something more than a stand-alone stadium has picked up steam in recent weeks, Mark Fabiani told sports talk hosts Scott Kaplan and Billy Ray Smith on XX Sports Radio 1090.

Let me start by expressing my bias. I am a huge Nick Hardwick fan. The couple of times I’ve chatted with him, I’ve come away thinking “That’s one of the most down-to-earth people I’ve ever met.” He’s likable and funny. He cares about football, his teammates and protecting his Quarterback. Outside of a few injuries (we’ll get to those), Nick has been everything you could ask for from an NFL Center.

The Temple Owl may not have the name recognition associated with other defensive lineman in this draft, but many believe that one more year in college would have landed him a legitimate spot in the top 10.
