ESPN’s analysis of the Bolts

WATCH ESPN ANALYSIS OF CHARGERS

I completely agree with the lack of energy on the team. Philip Rivers is our guidance and energy that ignites our entire team. Eric Weddle has stepped up as a defensive leader but as any Chargers fan would admit, we very much miss having that defensive X-factor.
We need to use our first round draft pick to upgrade our pass rush attack and get someone who can consistently get pressure to the quarterback. In my opinion, Ryan Kerrigan is my favorite fit for the Chargers. Kerrigan is highly regarded not just for his aggressive play on the field, but for an overall good character guy and a hard worker. We need that! He would be the kind of player who comes in as a rookie and says “Yes I’m a first round draft pick but I am here to learn. And I will be the first one into the weight room and the last one out.” He was a proven leader at Purdue and I believe would make the perfect addition to our top ranked defense.

Ryan Kerrigan is a STUD!!!! PLUS, he loves to force fumbles. Having 2 Boilermakers (Shaun Phillips) coming off the edges would make for an awesome tag team!

There are so many options that may fall to that number 18 pick… I just get excited thinking of them all!
