With the 3-4 being turned over to a guy who likes to get after the QB, Ayers would add speed from the outside and I agree w/ Mathews in pedigree but more so in being coached up by a family of hall-of-famers. Sam Ancho and OT, OG and late back-up center. You only do as good as your lines. They changed the pressure on the QB for zone( that is why Merriman failed to repeat) This team was built for aggression, but played a give ground, no big play defense. And we haveen't had the same OL since Coach Hauch left. You spend your money on a smart nasty OL. Ryan Mathews Tolbert & Hester eat up defenses. And w/ the new rule no need for Sproles, if the player brings it out it's north and south only. Tolbert knows how to do just that!! We need to get our defense to take the ball away. Put it in our offense's hands to score. Draft defensive linemen. DE's please.
