Living in the Past: Chargers Super Bowl Bound with Win Over Steelers

I know we make fun of all those Raiders fans for living in the past, but I decided to go back a little bit just to try it out and reminisce on the San Diego Chargers Super Bowl march back in ’94 (man that is forever ago and I was 12 years old).

The Pittsburgh Steelers are attempting to get another championship this year, but in 1994 we stopped them cold in the AFC Championship game! Those last 2 minutes of the game were intense and I was sweating and my heart was all in knots watching every pass thrown by Neil O’Donnell.

That 4th down swat by Dennis Gibson at the goal line just sent me and the rest of the city in a frenzy! The streets were covered in Blue and Gold Pride. Chargers flags riding on people’s cars and music stations making songs to celebrate the Chargers getting to the big dance. “Cotton Candy Blue and Gold, Chargers Going Super Bowl!!!”

The whole city came together and it was a joyous time in Chargers history. Hopefully we can bring back that feeling soon! Do y’all remember that day? Just pure GREATNESS! (we won’t talk about how the Super Bowl went)
