San Diego Chargers RB Mike Tolbert and LB Stephen Cooper will both join TE Antonio Gates on the Injured Reserve list.
Tolbert suffered from a sprained neck and a bruised shoulder after being hit hard last week in Cincinnati. He finishes his season with 735 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns with his bruising style of play. He will become a restricted free agent at the end of the season and most likely will be back with the Chargers next season.
Stephen Cooper will head to the IR as well with a strained MCL injury. He suffered the injury against the Indianapolis Colts and will have missed 5 games this season. He is the defensive captain and will finish the season with 37 tackles, 1 sack, and an interception. He will become a unrestricted free agent at the end of the season and it will be important for the Chargers to resign him.
The Chargers have signed RB Curtis Brinkley and LB Darry Beckwith from the practice squad in order to fill their spots on the roster. Both players may see a little bit of action in the final game of the season.
