Gates Likely Out Thursday vs 49ers

Antonio Gates will likely be sitting out his second straight game on Thursday against the 49ers. He has been bothered by plantar fasciitis a majority of the season and he has not had enough time to recover from the injury. He has not been able to practice all week and it is probably best that he spends more time resting his feet.

He will be replaced in the lineup by Randy McMichael. Vincent Jackson’s return to the lineup came at a good time.

Gates should try to get those feet as healthy as possible for our possible playoff run. He would be a huge weapon to have on the field for the playoffs.
