According to Adam Schefter, The Kansas City Chiefs QB underwent an appendectomy this morning and will be a question mark to start this Sunday against the San Diego Chargers. The Chiefs are 2 games up on the San Diego Chargers and there is a HUGE match-up between the teams this weekend in Qualcomm Stadium.
The Chiefs would start QB Brodie Croyle if Cassel is unable to make the start. The Chiefs also promoted quarterback Tyler Palko from the practice squad.
Recovery time from the operation varies from person to person. Some will take up to three weeks before being completely active; for others it can be a matter of days. We will have to watch his progress throughout the week to see if he is able to go. If anything, he will miss some practice time this week in preparing for the Chargers.
Here are the career numbers for Brodie Croyle:
He has appeared in 17 games in his career and the Chiefs have only won 2 of those games. In both of those wins, Croyle did not attempt a pass. You have to like our chances if Croyle is named the starter on Sunday.
