The Morning Charge – 11/15/10

The Chargers may be in their bye condition, but newspapers do not take weeks off. So we’re not going to let them get away clean, not with their ridiculous 4-5 record. They deserve a bye week report card, and they’re getting one.

The names are on the back of the uniform, but only for games, and not for practice. Go ahead and make the obligatory, smart-aleck crack about them needing name-tags on the front, too, but nobody would laugh.

The San Diego Chargers might be in third place and still have a losing record, but they’re now the team to beat in the AFC West.

Two weeks ago, the crew ripped apart the Chargers, who entered that day 2-5. Keyshawn Johnson went as far to question the Chargers’ talent level.

Now, the Chargers, who are 4-5 at the bye, have captured the imagination of Johnson. Asked to make a bold midseason prediction, Johnson said this Sunday: “San Diego will be in the AFC Championship game.”
