The Morning Charge – 11/11/10

It’s not an overconfidence. It’s a belief that the intangible demons that held them back have been exorcised and a recognition that they’ve done it the right way before and are once again.

Applewhite had already played more snaps in the three games leading up to Oakland than in any three-game stretch in his career. He would go on to play what was then a career-high 48 snaps against the Raiders. At 333 snaps for the season, he has already played 116 more snaps than he did in his previous career-high in 2008.

Nate Kaeding kicked for the first time Wednesday and confirmed he expects to kick in the Chargers next game, Nov. 22 against the Denver Broncos.

The San Diego Chargers are 4-5 and that is a disappointment. But the Chargers can’t feel badly about where they are as they head into their bye week. It is, at least, familiar. San Diego has won two straight games after starting 2-5 overall and 0-4 on the road.

Philip Rivers is back on the MVP Watch list now that the San Diego Chargers are winning again.
