Don’t Be Stupid and Play To The Whistle!!!
This goes for the offense and the defense. If the ball finds a way on the grass, PICK IT UP!! When you dive for a catch, just get up and keep running with the ball and make the ref call you back with the whistle. Not enough can be said about the plays from Richard Goodman and Jacob Hester, but this is a new week and fans have a short memory. Come out on fire and make us forget the stupid stuff from last week and the previous weeks.
Score Early and Often
We need to build a lead to start the game off and stop playing a game of catch up. A 3 point field goal lead is NOT ENOUGH! We need the offense to wake up early in the 1st quarter and not wait until the 4th quarter and it is too late.
Protect the Football and Win Turnover Battle
This goes with “Don’t be stupid and play to the whistle.” We cannot give them extra opportunities to score. We need to stop the fumbles and stay away from interceptions on offense. On defense, when you get your hands on the ball, you NEED TO CATCH IT. Jammer missed an interception last week and the previous week, Cooper and Weddle missed interceptions that hit them in the hands. They need to turn the momentum and get the offense back on the field with the pick.
Stop Chris Johnson
Titans RB Chris Johnson is one of the best running backs in the league. The Chargers need to keep him from having a big game and force QB Vince Young to beat them. Johnson has the ability to score every time he touches the ball and has great breakaway speed. Vince has never beaten the Chargers and we need to make sure we keep history the same at the end of the day.
Antonio Gates, Antonio Gates, Antonio Gates!!!
He is our biggest weapon on offense and he opens up the field for the other receivers. We need to at least throw the ball in his direction a couple of times early and just open up the field for the young receivers. This might also open up the field for the running game. Gates is the key for the offense to be moving and we need to get him the ball as much as possible.
