It is week 8 already and the Chargers are in a BIG NEED for a victory against the Tennessee Titans. We have come out stumbling out of the gates and we need to turn the tables. I talked to Jake Thompson, the Lead Blogger over at Titan Sized - a Tennessee Titan Blog, to give us a little insight on the upcoming game.
1. What is happening with the quarterback position with the injuries. What is the status?
As far as I know, Vince Young is still Day to Day and no one really knows yet if he will, if I had to predict though, I would say that he will start.
2. The Titans are second in the league in scoring points… How can they be stopped?
It’s hard to stop them as long as the passing game is reasonably successful. The quickest way to beat the Titans is to make them one dimensional. Take away Chris Johnson, and you will beat the Titans 7/10 times. Force the Titans to throw the ball and things will work out very well for the Chargers.
3. Where are the weaknesses to the defense?
The Titans Defense is very risk/reward. We blitz a lot of the time, so that often leaves us vulnerable to screens, and play action passes.
4. What player, that Chargers fans dont know about, should we keep an eye out for?
Many Chargers fans will have a vague recollection of what Kenny Britt did against the Eagles, but keep looking for him, I think that was his breakout game and he’s going to continue to put up stellar numbers.
5. Prediction on the game?
My prediction…pain. No but seriously I think the Chargers fall to the Titans 27-24
Thanks Jake for answering some questions for us about your team. We look forward to kicking the Titans tail all over the field on Halloween!!! Watch out, cuz this sleeping giant is waking up and it starts with the Titans!
