Bring In Steve Smith

The Chargers should really consider bringing in Steve Smith before the trading deadline on Tuesday. Malcom Floyd has suffered a hamstring injury and those things tend to linger around. Antonio Gates suffered a toe injury last weekend also and left Rivers with very few options.  Legedu Naanee also missed action with an injury and really has not provided much as the opposite starter of Floyd. Patrick Crayton is a good veteran receiver on the squad, but Buster Davis is too inconsistent to play long stretches. He dropped too many balls last week that could have led to first downs.

Steve Smith is an electrifying receiver that has the ability to get deep and brings INTENSITY to the field. He can turn short passes into HUGE gains and this would be the first time that he would have an elite QB throwing to him. Smith would give us another option on offense and would take the double teams away from Antonio Gates.

This trade would actually make me feel like AJ Smith is doing something to improve us instead of actually tearing us apart. SO, that means it probably will not happen.
