The news from ESPN and Kevin Acee is that Vincent Jackson is likely to report to camp.

Jackson must report by Oct. 30, the day before the Chargers’ eighth game. He has to be on the roster for six games in order get an accrued season, and because he is on the Roster Exempt List, he must sit out three games after reporting and signing. -Kevin Acee

What  could we expect from from Vincent Jackson in week 11? Would we get the pro bowl player that is running past the defense and leaping above the competition to make grabs OR will we see an unhappy and underpaid player pulling the ‘injury’ card on anything minor. Allowing him to sit out games and avoid any severe injury that could ruin his future (Shawne Merriman)?

I am a little pessimistic on what we will get from the wide receiver just because it doesn’t seem that Vincent has a good attitude about the whole situation. I don’t see him willing to risk his body for a play and I see him looking more toward that paycheck. So, even if Vincent Jackson reports to camp, we will have to see what kind of player we get.

If we are able to work out a long term deal with Jackson similar to a deal that we put together for Marcus McNeill, then we would have a better chance at seeing the pro bowl level receiver in top form. This seems to be an unlikely scenario, but who knows, it was unlikely to see Vincent Jackson come back to the team in the first place.
