Play To The Whistle

Looking back at a couple of key fumbles from this last weekend’s game.

This first play is Loper’s holy roll on the ground. I understand that the fat man is the first person to the ball because it was his man that made the sack. But where is the hustle of the other players to jump on top of the lineman or to chase after the ball. Shaun Phillips and Shawne Merriman just stroll up to him and allow him to roll over and over again to get close to the first down. Paul Oliver is the only player that is running in this whole play.

Now for the incompletion ‘fumble’ that was thrown by Rivers. I understand that people thought it was an incompletion, but that stupid whistle did not blow and the refs are deathly afraid to blow a play dead because they do not want to “Hochuli” it. Every single Raider player was after the ball while Philip Rivers was jumping up and down complaining to the ref that it was a forward pass and I don’t even know what Darren Sproles was doing on the play Even Randy McMichael who got his hands on the ball, made a nonchalant attempt at the ball.

Can we just stay focused and play all the way to the end of the whistle!!! Get your heads in the game and keep that intensity flowing till the play is dead.
