Discussions: Jackson For Mankins

Tom Curran reports that the New England Patriots are looking into possibilities about a trade for disgruntled WR Vincent Jackson. A trade is rumored to include another holdout for the Pats, G Logan Mankins.

Logan Mankins is currently holding out from the New England Patriots. Mankins went to college up north at Fresno State (same college as rookie RB Ryan Mathews). Mankins is a 2x Pro Bowl selection and an All Pro. He was drafted in 2005 and is considered one of the best at his position.

The Chargers  already have 3 pro bowl players on the line with Marcus McNeill, Kris Dielman, and Nick Hardwick. Louis Vazquez plays right guard and was injured a couple of weeks ago when he sprained his knee. He is expected back in a couple of weeks and already has started practicing.

All teams would take a pro-bowl o-lineman, but the Chargers are already set at the guard position. A trade would also be difficult since both players would need to agree to a contract also. AJ Smith has put a steep price for Vincent Jackson and it is unlikely that the Pats give AJ an offer he likes.

Let’s see what happens!
