Ryan Mathews has not been able to practice this week with the injury that he suffered in the game against Jacksonville. He has been diagnosed with a high ankle sprain. Everyone is anxious to see what the rookie can bring to the field for the team this year. His first 2 games of the season have been disappointing with 2 fumbles. He has shown the potential to be a special back.

If there is any chance that Mathews can further bother this  injury, then he should be held out for this game. Mathews needs to make sure that he can stay healthy for the entire season and that he can contribute later in the season.  Mike Tolbert proved last week that he can handle the running game duties as the lead back. Big Mike is tough to tackle and runs well between the tackles.

Ryan, rest it!! Make sure it’s good to go and then come out with that fire. we all are waiting to see that explosiveness and don’t want to see anything less!
