With the contract volek received I agree. But to say we “ripped” off the Seahawks is ridiculous. The Seahawks had a huge need for a quality backup qb. Any many people think the Seahawks ultimately got the better deal. They swapped 2nd round picks, and ultimately the chargers had to trade it away to move up in first to get Mathews which many believe they could have done with their original 2nd round pick.

At the end the Seahawks get a quality backup qb, and the chargers get no second round pick, and the 3rd round pick next year.

I agree with everything you are saying with AJ…. AJ has a HUGE ego and the fans are pissed at him. We are tired of losing are best players for draft picks.
and the LA thing… im not ready to face the Los Angeles situation. Sickens me just thinking about not having a football team here!
Whitehurst was not going to take over for Voleck anytime soon. If you are looking at the preseason, Whitehurst wasnt so hot either. Time will definitely tell… he may get it straightened out.

Let me elaborate. I don’t feel any team at this point will give the chargers 2 consecutive 2nd round picks for Jackson. Aj could easily trade him for a second(2011) and a third or fourth(2012). However I feel Aj would rather think he is getting the last laugh by sitting him all season(vincent loses millions), and the chargers still get a 3rd round comp pick. Aj doesn’t lose in this scenario, only the fans do. The chargers will get less quality players out of the draft, and continue to be blacked out on tv. Then the chargers move to LA.

Secondly, it is impossible at this point to say wether the chargers or Seahawks got the better deal in their offseason trade. Just look at how volek looked in preseason.
