Week 1 - Bolts on D

The Chefs Chiefs want to run the ball with Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones. The big boys up front need to clog up the lanes and control the line of scrimmage. Antonio Garay and Cam Thomas are taking the place of Jamal Williams. They will need to control the middle and take on multiple blockers to allow players like Stephen Cooper and Kevin Burnett to make the play.

Ron Rivera looks like he wants to send more blitzes this year and it will be up to the outside linebackers to get in the backfield and knock Matt Cassel around. Shawne Merriman is doubtful to play in this game, so it will be up to Larry English and Shaun Phillips. I hope to see Antwan Applewhite out on the field a lot also. He just always seems to be around the ball and just makes plays.

The corners will be in their first game without Antonio Cromartie. Antoine Cason is taking over his position and will be “stalking” former Charger Chris Chambers. Dwayne Bowe is on the other side of the ball and has shown great and skills when he is on the field. Quentin Jammer will have to jam him up. The Chiefs plan to use RB/WR Dexter McCluster all over the field and the Chargers need to be aware of him at all times. He has the ability to take it to the house any time he touches it.

The Bolts should be able to apply lots of pressure on Cassel. Expect to see a lot of celebrations in the backfield after a sack.
