Got a kid that loves football? For those of you Chargers fans with little ones between ages seven and fourteen, you might like to know about the Philip Rivers youth football camp that will be happening in about two weeks.
Yes, for a fee, your kid will receive personalized instruction on football fundamentals and the concept of being a team from Pro Bowl quarterback Philip Rivers! I don’t know what kid wouldn’t want to learn from a guy like that. Not to mention, all of the proceeds go to the Rivers of Hope Foundation, which is headed by Philip and makes miracles happen for underprivileged foster children.
The camp does cost $199, but the proceeds go to a great cause. Plus, if you register online at philipriverscamp.com, you can input the code, CHARGERS, when you sign up and get $20 off. The event will be held at the U.C. San Diego N.C.R.A. fields on July 10-11. Make sure you register early, as space is limited and demand will be great, so your child can learn from the best and have an unforgettably great time.
To parents of football players: I highly recommend these types of camps for kids. I went to a similar camp when I was younger, run by former NFL stars Martin Bayless and LaRoi Glover, and it changed how I looked at the game at a young age. These camps are great and I urge everyone to get their kids signed up if they can. Plus it gives Philip a chance to make a lasting impression on your child while he raises money to help thousands more. This is really a win-win for the community and the world.
