Chargers Draft Needs (Poll)

Continuing Chargers coverage will be popping up here throughout the day. In the mean time, with the draft less than an hour away, I thought I would do something interactive for you guys and let you vote on our biggest positional needs and their round-by-round priority. I encourage you all to think outside the obvious before you click Running Back right away. Yes, I’m talking to you. You all know who you are. For the sake of being thorough, lets examine our position by position needs.

First, in my opinion. We NEED a nose tackle like nobodies business. Our offense got along just fine with a dormant running game but our abysmal rushing defense cost us DEARLY in the playoffs and throughout the regular season. Now that Jamal Williams is relocated to a new team (not just to injured reserve) we need to fill that void.

Second, of course we need a running back for incredibly obvious reasons, but since we have the 8th pick of the second round (thanks Seattle) we can afford to take a nose tackle first. Face it folks, C.J. Spiller will not stay on the board very long. So we need to think about pick value and take first round talent where it is available and try to stay smart about this.

The other two needs, which are not nearly as glaring as the first two, would of course be corner back and offensive guard. Mainly, we need to draft here for depth reasons so these can wait until the third and fourth rounds. Of course, I like when people try to tell me I’m wrong so feel free to make your voices heard in the comments section and on the poll below.
