Bolt Beat Notes and Coverage

There has been a lot of good news coming out of San Diego, particularly from reporter Casey Pierce, which has been a breath of fresh air for Chargers fans in an off season that has been shrouded in questions.

Casey reported that the San Diego special teams unit has finished seventh overall in the Dallas Morning News annual rankings of every special teams unit in the NFL, which is always done religiously by esteemed NFL writer Rick Gosselin. They deserve a round of applause as this kind of dominance will only continue.

Casey Pierce also reported that the complete Chargers coaching staff will return for 2010. Again, more wonderful news in this mysterious off-season.

What else would you guys like to see happen this off-season? We’ve got a title to chase and I’m not talking about another AFC West crown. Let’s hear some opinions in the comments section about what else we need to do to prepare for a division that will be much more competitive this year. Denver Broncos Head Coach Josh McDaniels is building quite the stable of former Patriots. The Kansas City Chiefs even have a couple in Matt Cassel and Mike Vrabel. Plus, you never know what wacky things that Raiders owner Al Davis will do in a potentially uncapped season.

The gap between us and the other AFC West franchises is growing thinner. We need to prepare for this in order to remain on top.
