Blackout Avoided; LT Sitting Out

The Chargers managed to sell enough tickets to avoid a television blackout, according to the Union-Tribune. Good news for the San Diego faithful who haven’t made the DirecTV Sunday Ticket plunge. It’s costly, but glorious.

While San Diegans can watch the Bolts battle the Ravens come Sunday, LT will not be on the field. The AP reported that the star running back will be held out of the home opener, only the second time he’s missed a game in his career. The ankle sprain was sustained last week against the Raiders, and coaches seem optimistic he’ll be good to go next week.

Also out for Week 2 are center Nick Hardwick and DE Travis Johnson.

Looks like the injury bug is hitting hard and fast. We haven’t seen a guy like Merriman go down, but it might be a good idea to knock on wood just in case.

And finally, looks like Philip Rivers’ mouth is writing checks his ass can cash. The UT reported that the NFL fined him $7,500 for taunting against the Raiders on Monday Night Football.
