Disaster Averted: Merriman Will Play

Posted by: Zach

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, and the entire sports blog-o-sphere, is reporting that Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman will play this season.

A torn LCL and PCL in his left knee won’t keep the defensive star on the sideline. The injury will eventually need surgery, but Merriman feels ready for the Super Bowl run.

It’s a gamble, to be sure. But every second on the field is a risk, healthy or not.

You may now exhale, Bolt fans.
