Oceanside Opposes Stadium? REALLY? REALLY?

An article published this morning in the North County Times cites a group with the incredibly witty monaker “Go Away Chargers”, that opposes bringing the Chargers franchise and a new stadium to North County.

The “annonamous” citizens (as one commentor writes toward the bottom of the linked webpage) have retained lawyer David O’Connell (Jerry’s brother?) as the spokesperson for the group. As spokesperson, O’Connell voiced the groups inability to “understand why the city would want to sacrifice it on the altar of development.”

WHOA! “Altar of development”? What kind of biblical nonsense is that? Your altar would only be so happy to have the economic boom a new stadium in this era brings to your lifeless city. And if in fact it is a religious altar you defend, HELLO! Football is on Sunday! Look at all the new drones you could suck into the altars in Oceanside!

As Seth Meyers would say, “Really David O’Connell? You are representing, annonamously, a group of Oceansiders who feel development would be bad for Oceanside? What, you mean you’re happy with the current state of the city? You guys really think that a multi-million dollar investment in your city wouldn’t improve upon the Jack In the Box/Del Taco image your city has, REALLY? Goat Hill golf course shouldn’t be turned into a possible Super Bowl host site, Really? That’s like saying, ‘No, we don’t need your provided long-term stability and jobs, we’re pretty happy with our way of life and our Datsun pickups. We don’t need to host a Super Bowl for two weeks, enabling our economy to bring in business on a national scale, we’re fine with commuters exiting the 5 to invest in Carl’s Jr.’”

What a joke you people are. Don’t go outside the cave, please. Keep watching the shadows on the wall.

Jeez o flip.
